Born in 1992 in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea. Since his official debut with 『I'll Write You a Letter』 in 2017, he has steadily written essays and built a sentence-world of his own. His representative work is 『Well Was, Well Is, Well Will Be』, and his most recent book is 『To Salvation』. At the same time, as the head of his publishing house, he walks the path of a publisher in addition to that of a writer. With over one million cumulative copies sold, he holds a distinct presence in Korea's popular essay scene and an unusual record of never once having fallen off the bookstore charts since his debut. In step with the changes of the times, he proposes new possibilities for the long-standing role of the writer and for existing publishing practices. His way of making his own path — beyond mere sales figures or résumés — clearly marks him as a leading voice among the young writers of this generation.

Hello, I'm Jeong Young Wook. Welcome to everyone who has found their way here. This space is where I keep a careful record of my work and career, and where I share the most accurate, up-to-date news with those who keep returning. It was built with the hope that my story reaches you whole, without the noise of mixed information.
To readers in Korea who send me their support, and to readers far away who wait for the translated editions — I want my voice to reach you clearly through this place. Going forward, I'll focus on full revisions of my existing books, their translations abroad, and writing a novel. I also plan to return more often to offline gatherings, which I've been away from for a while.
Because there are always people cheering me on, I can keep writing and living. Even if we go through life without knowing each other's faces, I hope our hearts never drift apart. From here, I'll be quietly cheering for you too. Thank you.
Sincerely, Jeong Young Wook · April 2026
